Morganite is the rose or orangish rose variety of the beryl. The purest form of morganite is almost colorless and most morganites are generally heat treated to enhance the color and to remove impurities. The chemical composition is Be3Al2(SiO3)6. The pink color is due to the manganese cotent. The other varieties in the same group of beryl are heliodore- golden yellow variety and aquamarine- the bluish green to blue variety of beryl. The major origin are brazil, Madagascar and Afghanistan. The clarity are mainly transparent - flwless to VVS.
